The Diocese of Brooklyn, and most dioceses in the country, conducts an annual appeal to help fund the ministerial work of the Church. The ministries, programs and services funded by the Catholic Appeal provide educational, formational, pastoral and charitable outreach to those brothers and sisters living within our diverse communities. Much of the service offered would not be possible, or would not be nearly as effective, without the support provided by your chritable ways and generous hearts.

Thousands of people throughout our diocese count on us as a Church to provide them with much-needed programs and services made possible through the ACA. Many of these offerings, such as Migration Services and Catholic Charities, are beyond the resources of any one parish. These works, upon which so many of our brothers and sisters rely, are a vital part of fulfilling our baptismal call and our universal call to holiness.

Each time we say the Creed we reaffirm the fact that we are members of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. Through thse words we are emphasizing that every parish, every parishioner is responsible for not only his/her parish but also for the universal well-being of the Church throughout Brooklyn and Queens, and in the world. Because of this declaration, and because we are a community of believers, each and every parishoner and all parish communities are asked to participate in the ACA.
